Getting to JFK from Pennsylvania
John F. Kennedy International Airport is in Queens, on the far side of New York City from us. By public transport it means a train to Manhattan and then another journey out to the airport. By private car it is one seat from your front door to the departures curb. That is why travelers with a long-haul flight from JFK ask us to drive them.
Know your terminal
JFK is being rebuilt, and where airlines operate is changing as new terminals open in phases. As a guide, American Airlines is based in Terminal 8, Delta in Terminal 4 and JetBlue in Terminal 5. A new Terminal 1 and a new Terminal 6 are opening in stages. Please check your booking close to the date and tell us the terminal, so your driver goes to the right one.
The drive
We cross New Jersey on the Turnpike and approach the airport on the Belt Parkway or the Van Wyck Expressway. Traffic around New York is hard to predict, so we plan a pickup time with plenty of margin. Expect a long ride, and bring what you need to be comfortable.
Arrivals
We also meet arriving flights at JFK and bring passengers back to Pennsylvania. Send us the flight number and the number of people and bags. After a long international flight, a direct ride home is a great deal easier than two more trains.
Is JFK the right airport?
If the same destination is served from Philadelphia or Newark, those are shorter rides. JFK makes sense when it has the nonstop you need or a fare that justifies the distance. We drive to all three and are happy to quote more than one so you can compare the full cost of each option.
Vehicles and groups
For a ride this long, comfort matters. A sedan is fine for one or two. An SUV gives three to five people and their luggage proper room. For more than five, tell us the headcount.
